Fanny lost
her parents when she was young, and now she has lost her grandfather as
well. The terms of his will cause friction among the remainder of her
family. To make matters even more disheartening her uncle becomes her
guardian and he is determined that she make match that he deems worthy
of a Broadmoor young woman and of his own choosing for his own purposes…
and that certainly isn’t Michael, her childhood friend and family boat
keeper whom she has lost her heart to. Will Fanny follow the dictate of
her uncle or will she flout society and follow her heart?
A
DAUGHTER’S INHERITANCE
is the first book Tracie Peterson and Judith Miller new series, The
Broadmoor Legacy. This reader will be certain to keep an eye out for
book two! This tale is heart wrenching with the loss of so many of
Fanny’s beloved family members. After so many losses, you would think
that Fanny is entitled so some peace in her life. Unfortunately that
isn’t to be so. As typical of some affluent families in our historical
past, social position and status mean more to the men in ones family
than love and a young woman’s happiness. Enter Uncle Jonas, the
character all readers will love to hate, but never love. He certainly
only has his own best interest at heart, as do many other members of the
family. Lucky for Fanny, her two cousins are her best friends and
willing to stand behind her not matter what.
This reader
was disappointed in only the fact that we didn’t hear enough about
Michael. And what a cliff hanger our authors Mses. Peterson and Miller
left us with! This reviewer wanted to scream in delightful frustration!
These are things we have to look forward to in book 2.
This
reviewer whole-heartedly recommends A DAUGHTER’S INHERITANCE.
This is a typical Bethany House book, that totally lives up to their
high standards. The writing is smooth, the characters are believable,
and the plot is intriguing and grabs the reader from the first chapter.
Don’t miss out on this one! You will surely be missing something special
