Tom Knight, better known as Ender, has a new mission. Either he brings Kira Donovan under the wing of ACRO (Agency of Cover Rare Operatives) or kills her; and he has only 2 days to persuade her. But he never expected that the cute animal psychic would awaken emotions in him that he never thought possible. What he also didn’t count on was that ACRO’s enemy ITOR was one step ahead of him. They already had an operative at the isolated Idaho farm and it was no one other than Tom’s long time foe Derek. To complicate the situation even more for him Kira is coming into her annual heat and she needs a mate or she won’t survive it. Is Tom the answer to Kira’s dreams and wishes for a normal life and maybe even a family? 

The author team behind Sydney Croft really outdid themselves. The first book of the ACRO series, RIDING THE STORM, in which the readers met Tom “Ender” Knight for the first time, was already fantastic, but this one is brilliant. This reader’s recommendation is to fasten your seatbelt and enjoy this emotional roller coaster ride. The story is full of action, emotion and steamy hot sex scenes. From the first page onward the readers are immediately caught up in the story and it will have them on the edges of their chairs. The chemistry between Tom and Kira is really explosive from their first meeting on; it’s like they waited their whole life for each other. Both of them bring out the best in the other one and they help each other find joy in life again. 

Additional to the main love story, the reader gets more background information on the other ACRO operatives as well as the whole situation between ACRO and ITOR. 

A small warning for those of you who don’t like m/m action, there is a short scene in the book. Just to let you know. 

For this reviewer Sydney Croft is one of the best newcomers in 2007. They write captivating paranormals with a refreshingly different voice. This reviewer highly recommends UNLEASHING THE STORM to all fans of paranormal books with fascinating alpha heroes and equally strong heroines. The book is a real keeper!
