Welcome, Ms.
Drewry,
to Love Romances and More and to our interview. The readers and I, look
forward to this talk about your book, and getting to know you on a more
personal level.
Let us start
off by telling you a little about this hot author,
Jayelle
Drewry, with a wonderful quote and a short blurb from her book, SECOND
CHANCES.
“Ms.
Drewry
wrote an extraordinary, powerful and unforgettable novel about two
wonderful people that become real right before your very eyes.
Ms.
Drewry’s sensuous voice and descriptive pen outline a tale that hooked
this reader from the start.”
After losing his wife, widower Logan Scott vows
never to love again. The pain of loving and losing is too great. So, he
raises his daughter alone, pouring his love on her. He will do anything
for his daughter, even remarry in order to give her the mother he thinks
she needs. Do anything that is, but fall in love. He’s picked out the
perfect candidate, daycare owner
Amber
Johnson.
Single mom
Amber has
been burnt by love before. But her affection for a motherless toddler and
her attraction to
Logan has her
willing to risk her heart again.
Setting out to win
Amber’s
heart and gain a mother for his daughter,
Logan didn’t mean
to fall in love again. But he did. When
Amber
discovers the reason behind his seduction, will she forgive him and give
them both a second chance at love?...

Ms.
Drewry,
if you would be so kind as to tell the readers little about yourself and,
what you do when you are not busy writing?
Two sons,
two cats, a husband, and a full time job keep me pretty busy. Writing is
my escape.
Could
you tell the readers how you came up with the premise for SECOND CHANCES?
I was
pregnant with my first son and evaluating my daycare options. I finally
went with this fantastic lady who had turned the entire bottom of her
house into a daycare. She actually had a waiting list, so many people
wanted their children to stay with her. Gail and I became friends, and
one day I thought if anything ever happened to me, she would be a
fantastic mother.
Ms.
Drewry,
who is your great inspiration?
My
husband. He is without a doubt one of the most caring romantic help I
know. I bounce a lot of my ideas off of him.
Do you
have a favorite scene from SECOND CHANCES?
Yeah,
when Logan carries Amber up the stairs. I love a take charge man.
What
was the hardest scene to develop in SECOND CHANCES?
The sex
scenes. I’m a worrier. Am I too explicit? Will other reading this find
it appealing? It is boring and repetitive?
Do you have a
special formulation or technique when you write?
No.
Usually I grab one of my sons’ bean bag and retreat to the bathroom. I do
a lot of writing in the bathtub (without the water). It’s quiet and I can
talk to myself.
Could you
describe to the readers what it felt like when you received your very
first contract?
It was an
incredible rush. Someone actually liked what I had written. My husband
actually received the call and called me on my cell phone. I thought he
was joking with me.
They say
everyone has a dream, what is yours?
Right
now, I’m living it. I have a loving, supportive husband, fantastic
children, and there is no wolf howling at our door. I honestly can’t say
that I would change a single thing about my life. Unless someone would
like to give me enough money to be independently wealthy, I could live
with a gift like that.
How
much background research went into SECOND CHANCES?
Sadly
none. I wrote what I knew.
Ms.
Drewry,
what are your views in regards to sex in the romance field today?
I think
it’s a personal preference thing. Some writers are very explicit while
others shut the bedroom door. I read both. I do not like sex for the
sake of sex. If I can’t like the characters and care about them, I don’t
want to read about them having sex either.
You
give the characters in SECOND CHANCES a realistic and personal feel to
them. Did you model anyone from the book after someone you know
personally?
Yes. Her
name is Gail, and she took care of both my boys.
Ms.
Drewry,
will you try your hand at other genres?
Yes, I’ve
written two paranormal, erotic romances, The Other Half and The Outcast.
They’re loosely based on the legend of Romulus and Remus.
Would
you like to tell the readers about any new or upcoming releases, Ms.
Drewry?
I have a
novella with Triskelion, due for release in 2007. It’s a vampire tale
entitled Deadly Inheritance.
How
can your fans reach you, Ms.
Drewry?
They can
email me via my website. Plus I have a blog, comments are always welcome.
Ms.
Drewry,
do you have any advice for aspiring authors?
Write what you
know and are comfortable with. Don’t force a scene or subject.
I would like to thank you Ms.
Drewry,
for sharing your talent and time with the readers of Love Romances and
More. I truly enjoyed reading SECOND CHANCES and hope to read more from
you soon!
