Wolf River is a
nerve tingling suspense set in Montana, with many twists and turns,
making it a page turner.
Erinn Winters is
searching for her half sister, worried that the childhood she’d had may
have changed her. Erinn is full of secrets, especially about her
background and the father she despised. Her visions of death and danger
didn’t save her mother, but she’s hoping they will save her sister.
Local rancher
Jase Fortune, has sworn off feeling anything for another woman, after
his acrimonious divorce. When he meets Erinn, he finds himself with the
urge to protect her.
Someone is out to
destroy the Fortune family ranch, and Jase is determined to stop them.
When Erinn and her sister Devon, also become targets of the evil that
has come to the area, Jase and Erinn find they mean more to each other
than they’d bargained on. All their lives are at risk and it seems Erinn
is the one with the clues as her visions become darker and closer
together.
All the main
characters were really well drawn, making the story come alive as the
plot developed. The main hero and heroine were fascinating, making them
easy to bond with and their charisma really came alive as the story
progressed. The plot action was easy to follow but complex enough to
intrigue the reader and engage this reviewer’s interest. The conflicts
were varied and the suspense was kept high, right through to the last
chapter.
The dialogue had
a good tone and style, identifying which character was speaking. The
writing had a good pace and the style had depth and energy. This is the
first book I’ve read from this author, but would certainly like to read
another.
Motivation was
clear for both good and bad, with a refreshing story that could have
really occurred, making WOLF RIVER a joy to read. The tension was
held throughout the book with many surprises along the way. The romance
threaded through the tale was smooth, with some beautiful, sensual
scenes that fitted into the storyline.
