After Bells last battle, he’s almost dead but makes it to his doctor, just in time.  His enhancers have kept him barely alive, but the poisonous air almost kills him.  His doctor is able to treat him and when he’s somewhat recovered, he goes back to Jessman, his lover.  Jessman is worried about Bells.  He is in constant fear of his life and hopes that Bells will return soon.  Now that Jessman has been promoted, he has to dance to the corporate tune and Director Perez seems to have taken a liking to the man.  Bells is too late to stop Director Perez from having his way with his lover, but Bells has some games of his own to play, and he plays for keeps.  

Another great read in the Through Neon Eyes series, Michael Barnette keeps the excitement running high.  The stakes have risen as Jessman climbs the corporate ladder and finds out his life is not so different than that of Bells, just on the other side of the zone.  Michael Barnette has built a believable world,  great characters, of which Director Perez will give you the chills and some really hot sex scenes.  This reviewer has been following this series with great joy and is always jumping for joy when the next story is released.  In this story, however, Mr. Barnette has left his readers literally hanging in mid-story, at a crucial time, so hopefully the next installment will come out really soon. This reviewer can’t wait!
